Oppose HB 3080 - Another fee to file bill

This bill would establish a fee and/or petition requirement for candidates seeking a place on primary election ballots.

This bill would establish a fee and/or petition requirement for candidates seeking a place on primary election ballots. The same fees and petitions would also be required for general ballot access by candidates who are not chosen by primary election. This bill was has been introduced by State Representative Rafael Anchia (HD-103). If passed, this bill would greatly limit ballot access to minor party candidates, thus denying voters access to adequate representation.

This bill has been read for the first time, and referred to the Elections Committee as of 3/23/2015.

Disastrous towards our democratic principals, if this bill is passed, we will truly see the beginning of a fascist government. I'm 17 and i live in tiny Marshall, Texas, and yet I still understand the dangers. Please, listen to our pleas, we are the people, and I still wish to believe that my government is the people, by the people, and for the people.
